Bridge Day is the largest extreme sports event in the world and is held on the third Saturday in October every year in Fayetteville. Hundreds of BASE jumpers and nearly 200,000 spectators are expected to attend this year's Bridge Day. We will be celebrating 28 years! The New River Gorge Bridge, 876' tall and the world's second longest single arch bridge, serves as the launch point for six hours (9am-3pm EST) of safe, legal BASE jumps.

7:00am - US 19/WV 16 at Fayetteville & US 19/Ames Heights Rd - ALL traffic shut down (Bridge CLOSED)
Detour- from Fayetteville via WV 16 North to Chimney Corner, US 60 east to US 19 at Hico. Detour- from Hico via US 60 west to Chimney Corner WV 16 south to US 19 at Fayetteville

Built in 1898, this 50 room structure has been through extensive renovations.
The library is one of the centerpieces of the tour. The book-lined room is lit with chandeliers and filled with antiques.
The Altamont has seen many historic events and figures in it's 108 years.
